The Doubletree by Hilton in the Southwest Chicago suburb of Alsip, IL, was the site of the 2013 District IV NABP/AACP Annual Meeting. Meeting co-chairs, Miriam Mobley-Smith and Phil Burgess assembled an outstanding cadre of speakers and topics that stimulated discussion and promoted audience interaction. The program’s theme was ‘Navigating Health Care Reform’ and included the topics of:

- Biosimilars: The development, evaluation, risks and legalities of using biopharmaceutical agents that may be classified as therapeutically but not generically interchangeable.
- Advances in Medication Therapy Management services within the Medical Home Model
- The Realities and Impact of Collaborative Practice: Viewpoints from practitioners, managed care and the public.
In addition, special interest meetings were held by AACP members on the topics of current employment issues and proposed accreditation standard revisions while NABP members focused on resolutions to present at the 2014 NABP Annual Meeting and on nominating individuals for the NABP Executive Board.
