Conference Location/Registration:

  • The conference is being held within the Atheneum Suite Hotel (at the International Banquet & Conference Center) located at 1000 Brush Street, Detroit, MI 48226. Click here to visit their website.
    • The registration table will be available on Wednesday September 18th from ~3PM-6PM EST at a table setup outside of the reception space (Beaubien on 8th Floor) and Thursday morning (Grand Ballroom, 8th Floor) starting at 7:30AM EST.
  • You can pick up your badge, ask questions, and more!
  • The opening reception will be on the 8th floor in the Beaubien room and all other conference programming will be down the hall on the 8th floor in the Grand Ballroom.

Parking:

Parking available at the hotel with valet service. The price is $20 for day of and in house.

  • Come up the circular driveway of the hotel, tell them you are with the District IV NABP/AACP conference and you will be provided a ticket for valet.
  • When you need the car, can present the valet ticket and they will get your car for you.

Welcome Reception (Wednesday, September 18th 5PM EST):

Our welcome reception will be held on Wednesday, September 18th starting at 5PM EST and ending around 7PM in the Beaubien Room (2nd Floor). There will be a registration table setup outside of the room open at 3PM. Stop by and grab your badge and some refreshments. There will be appetizer style items and a cash bar available for guests.

WiFi:

WiFi will be available within the conference room. The WiFi password is internet1000 (lowercase).

Transportation To/From Airport:

  • From the Airport: For those arriving at Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW).
  • The drive from DTW to downtown Detroit is approximately 30 minutes. Taxi rates and ride share app rates may vary. Recent averages range $65-$75 one-way.
  • The Detroit Airport Express bus (https://www.dax-bus.com/) operates 16 round trips daily. The bus stops at 1119 Washington Blvd, approximately a 15 minute walk from the Atheneum hotel. Tickets are $8 at the door, $6 in advance.
  • Not recommended: The SMART bus route 261 (FAST Michigan) provides direct service to downtown Detroit from both DTW terminals. This trip has multiple stops and can be lengthy.

CE Info:

  • This conference will offer CPE credit.
  • The deadline to claim is 60 days after the 1st CPE presentation.
  • Submissions will need to occur by no later than 1:30PM EST on November 18th, 2024.
  • Only attendees who indicated “I want to claim CE credit” on their registration form and provided their NABP ID and DOB will be eligible to claim CE. Please do not claim CE or attempt to if you are not attending this conference live/in-person or indicated this on your registration.

Executive Committee Elections:

There will be 2 total elections held at this conference, partaking on Friday September 20th during the District 2nd Business Sessions.  Each election will be for the regional District IV Executive Committee (one NABP seat and one AACP seat). Below are the candidates who have submitted to be candidates ahead of the meeting. Nominations for the regional District IV E.C. can be also taken from the floor. For the Regional E.C. election, one delegate member from each College or Board will serve as the representative to cast votes in the respective elections.
